This was an interesting book. I can’t say for sure whether I actually liked it or not. I wasn’t obsessed with the storyline like I wanted to be. I thought it was going to be a very different story based on the description on the back than the one I actually read. This story did keep me on my toes. I did not see the ending coming, which is a first, but I still wasn’t satisfied with it. That being said, I have no desire to find out what is actually going on if there ever is a sequel. I just… didn’t care.
I didn’t really understand what the point of the book was. It wasn’t really a mystery, but it wasn’t fully a love story either.
Have you read this book? Or Ellen Hopkins in general? I would love to hear your thoughts on this book. From what I gather online, a lot of her fans were disappointed in this book like I was. But I have to give her props for the ending of the book. I didn’t see that coming and it left me confused.
Right now the book is on sale at for $10.40. I think this would be a good book for anyone who doesn’t read a lot. I feel like you can read this for 15 minutes and put it down for a week or two and not have to backtrack.
“I don’t even know what love feels like. It’s unfair an asshole like Nick should know. But if it’s even remotely like having sex on the side with whomever, all the while claiming your heart is taken, maybe it’s just as well that it’s outside my realm of experience.”
